Chrysalis was established in 2008 to provide specialist support to Unilever’s "local jewel" brands from the UK, Germany and France. The unit was run from Rotterdam.
Analysts believed it heralded a future sale of the 14 brands in the unit.
Unilever has decided to transfer control of the brands, which also include Bovril, Peperami and Slim-Fast, back to their countries of origin under the name Incs (Incorporated businesses).
Matt Burgess, previously managing director of Chrysalis, is now Incs UK managing director.
Martin Deboo, an analyst at Investec, said the move will dispel rumours of a sell-off.
