Mktg Yes, hopefully. I am a bit concerned about the changes I have read about at the Mirror titles. I have been a reader of the Daily Mirror and Sunday Mirror in the past, along with The People.

Now I hear there are all these changes. Does this mean I can still get the paper? What impact will it have on me?

Trinity Mirror It will have no impact whatsoever.

Mktg Right, I had heard something different. I thought there was to be loads of jobs cuts, and that the papers might be cutting back in terms of their distribution. Is this not the case? Can I still pick up the papers from my newsagents?

Trinity Mirror No, I don't know where you've heard that. This is just a case of management changes at the top. The titles will continue to be published as before. The Daily Mirror during the week and the Sunday Mirror and The People on Sundays.

Mktg OK, that is a relief to know. The other thing I had heard was that the papers' editorial approach might change. Is that the case?

Trinity Mirror No, I can assure you this is not the case. The three titles will continue to be Labour-supporting titles. Just because of the change of editor, it does not mean that any of the papers will change their political allegiance.

Mktg Right. Does it mean that they are struggling and will be putting up their prices? That was mentioned to me too.

Trinity Mirror I honestly don't know about that. I can look into it for you, but I have not heard anything to that effect.

VERDICT: 7 out of 10

The call-handler knew his subject quite well. However, his tone was a little bit supercilious and condescending at times, and he gave short shrift to several of the questions. Overall, however, he must be commended for delivering his responses in a confident and authoritative manner.
