As the Olympic Park plays host to the Sainsbury’s Anniversary Games to mark the year since the Opening Ceremony - plus the National Lottery Anniversary Run and Open East festival - hundreds of volunteer Gamesmakers descended on the park for the one-day Go Local event.
Go Local, hosted by volunteering agencies Join In and Team London, and funded by the Big Lottery Fund and presenting partner BT, aimed to celebrate the volunteering legacy created by the Games.
The event saw Mayor Boris Johnson and Olympic and Paralympic legacy ambassador Sebastian Coe take to the stage to champion the volunteers that dedicated their time to the Games last year.
Marketing spoke to volunteers about their experiences a year on.
