Energy, drive, steady nerves and focus: these qualities have helped Williams become a well-known figure in the industry. Within BT she is credited with starting a cultural transformation on the back of her sponsorship strategy for the London 2012 Olympic Games, taking the brand "from drab to fab". Observers say this paved the way for the successful launch of BT Sport.

Williams is a fellow of The Marketing Society, a founder member of the AA’s Front Foot initiative and an adviser to the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
