Times Online is increasing the number of its personal finance tools
to create a financial shop. Times Money Shop
(www.thetimes.co.uk/moneyshop) offers visitors access to mortgages,
loans and credit card comparisons, as well as a range of insurance
It is part of a white-label deal that sees the shop powered by personal
finance aggregator MoneySupermarket and includes the company's entire
roster of services. Areas include price comparison for utilities,
private medical insurance and dental cover.
According to Times Online's channel manager Nina Vanneck, The Times'
readers are known to be particularly active investors.
"They are well informed, actively seeking information and will change
accounts or card if there's a better deal," she said.
Although it provides its tools to a number of portals and partner web
sites, it is the first time that MoneySupermarket has created a complete
branded area hosted on a partner site. "We have only launched a wider
range of product comparisons in recent months," commented Simon Nixon,
chief executive of MoneySupermarket.
