MARKETING MIX: Pen portrait - Simon Zimbler, Mason Zimbler

Simon Zimbler is joint managing director of Mason Zimbler, a full service marketing agency specialising in IT and technology. Within the agency he focuses on campaign strategy and planning.

Short term, long term, sooner, later, now? This chap is never happier than when on the go.

Except when he is eating, or laughing, or doing whatever it is at the moment.

Here is someone who is determined to do everything, to go everywhere, to live life to the full, to make things happen.

He reminds me of an episode of Star Trek in which a man was able to move so fast that all the 'ordinary' people seemed to be moving like lethargic snails. Worse still he's a 'controller' which means he'll make others move at his pace .

So it is to be hoped that he is able to choose his own team otherwise there will be few empty husks lying at the roadside.

He will use humour to lubricate his determination to get his own way - but get his own way he will.

This is an implementer, a doer, a right little Action Man in fact. (The Action Man comment is only sour grapes by the way .I only wish I could afford him.)

Mark Mason, joint managing director, Mason Zimbler, says: Remarkably his favourite TV programme is Star Trek, and eating and laughing are definitely preferences in his hectic life. During sport Simon uses Action Man verve to win through. All in all, I think this is a pretty good evaluation.
