Hart effectively takes over the roles of Holiday Autos' marketing director Jo Pyshorn, who left in November, and Sara Zimmerman, managing director and top marketer at Holiday Hotels, who left at the end of last year.
Matthew Cunliffe, a former Thomson holidays and Avis marketer, has been brought in as marketing manager for the combined operation. Marcus Wright, who was marketing manager for Holiday Hotels, has been made redundant.
This means the end of plans to expand the Holiday Hotels brand, created last May. "It's not the right environment to expand Holiday Hotels internationally," said Clive Jacobs, Holiday Autos Group chief executive and star of last year's docusoap The Secret Life of the Office.
"In the UK, we have decided that Holiday Hotels can best be served by fully leveraging the strengths of Holiday Autos."
