The company, which owns Costa Coffee, Beefeater, Brewers Fayre and TGI Friday, is planning a major fundraising initiative, called Round Up for Comic Relief.
It aims to help Whitbread meet its goal of raising £1m for the charity by giving customers the chance to donate by rounding up their bills.
Alcone Marketing, part of Omnicom, devised the campaign. It will run alongside the fundraising efforts of Comic Relief's many corporate partners, which include Unilever-owned detergent brand Persil.
