The Tribe, Five's children's drama series based on the emergence of a children's society after all adults have been wiped out by a virus, is to become the focus of a web-based education programme in UK schools. The module will tackle personal, social and health issues as part of the new national Citizenship curriculum, and aims to create a global online community of young people. The show will also launch a national drama competition. Contestants will stage productions of The Tribe from September into 2004. The show's owner, Cloud 9 Screen Entertainment, has hired ex-McCann-Erickson marketing director and Radio Advertising Bureau communications director David Longman as director of international brand development.
