It marks the first major UK site signing for Orion Information Services, the company behind SmartFlirts. OIS is offering SmartFlirts as a white-label product that can be rebranded and integrated into a partner's media property to off-line as well as online partners on a revenue-share basis.
The deal with MyVillage is formed under a 12-month rolling contract, with a new content area going live on the local entertainment network this month. Powered by SmartFlirts technology and database, the service incorporates messenger, email and live events and regularly updated lifestyle and advice sections, competitions and promotions.
Creating a profile on the service is free. Once registered, MyVillage users can use the system to meet, chat and flirt anonymously through their PC or mobile phone.
Gaelle Delagrave, business development manager at MyVillage.com, said: "It is important for us that any new partnership reflects our brand values. We looked long and hard at the options on offer and are sure that our users will love the new services.
"Our audience tends towards funky, fun, outgoing young professionals and this is a perfect fit for them. For MyVillage this is also an ideal solution to offering customers added value, while extending our reach into our customer base, with no outlay or risk."
Revenue split between SmartFlirts and the host sites comes from monthly fees for profile upgrades and text charges.
