Big Brovaz, the UK R&B band, has taken part in a 'Don't fool with fireworks' campaign for this year's Bonfire Night celebrations. The initiative, devised by digital media agency i-level and aimed at 11- to 16-year-olds, tied in with the Department of Trade and Industry's annual firework safety campaign. The music act sent personal messages direct to fans, asking them to keep safe on Bonfire Night. The free message was only sent to those who opted in to receive messages from the band and to selected subscribers of MTV. It is the first use of text messaging for a firework safety campaign. Despite a 25% reduction in recorded injuries last year, young people still form a significant proportion of those injured.
