Henkel will not be replacing her and has scrapped the marketing director position. Instead Gervase Cottam, managing director of Buck Chemicals, Henkel's UK distributor and the firm from which Henkel acquired the Frish toilet cleaner brand in July last year, will become general manager in the UK.
Armstrong-Hooper took up her current role in 2000 and helped introduce the Glist brand into the UK, overseeing the launch of dishwasher detergent Glist 3-in-1 Plus in May this year.
The product was a market first in the UK and has gone on to secure listings in most major supermarkets. It is also gaining market share on Reckitt Benckiser's Finish brand, which holds 60% of the market.
