Launch: Licensing arm for Product Plus

Product Plus International, the consumer premiums division of the 4imprint Group, is launching a dedicated licensing consultancy division to exploit the growing number of promotional tie-ins with licensed properties.

PPI Licensing will be headed by Rob Stevenson, former managing director of premiums companies Wicked Widgets and Tangible Concepts.

The off-shoot will offer tailor-made solutions for retailers who want to source licensed character merchandise.

Stevenson will report to Rowland Deighton, managing director of Product Plus International. Deighton said PPL would conduct qualitative and quantitative research to establish which licensed properties, premium products and promotional mechanics work best for brands.

He said: "When we started designing and sourcing event merchandise for sponsors of major international football tournaments in 1996, we built a dedicated team to service the specific demands of global and pan-European projects.

"Having been successful in sport, we now aim to do the same in other areas of licence-based premium promotions," Deighton added.

Other services will include new-product development and in-house design to meet clients' specific briefs.

Product Plus also has a regularly updated database of new products.
