The Namibia Tourism Board is also considering hiring marketing agencies once the brand is in place to help it promote the country ahead of next year's holiday season.
Corporate Edge and Yellow Railroad will initially conduct market research among travellers in the UK and Germany to establish the criteria by which they select destinations before starting work on the brand.
Namibia Tourism Board's marketing manager, Shareen Thude, appointed both agencies. In October the board hired BGB & Associates to handle consumer PR.
Namibia attracts about 750,000 tourists a year. South African holidaymakers account for about 60% of that figure, while 30% of visitors come from Europe.
