If uber-cool, high-performance gadgets flick your switch, a role at electrical brand Bang & Olufsen (B&O) may sound perfect. But as product and training manager Steve Devonshire says: 'There's more to it than knobs and switches.' Every funky design element on B&O's products is there for a reason and it's up to Devonshire to ensure staff in the brand's retail outlets know precisely what that reason is. His job also requires some dramatic ability. To drum the brand message home to trainees, he runs role-playing sessions, which take place in a dummy shop at B&O's headquarters.
