HP turns to Cisco for top marketer

Hewlett-Packard has hired top Cisco marketer David Seda to strengthen its international marketing capability as it steps up its fight against IBM and Microsoft. Seda, senior director of corporate marketing for EMEA at Cisco, responsible for all its marketing communications, is understood to be moving to a similar top-level role at HP.

He is the second senior marketer poached in the past three months by HP. His appointment follows that of former BT marketing chief Amanda Mackenzie, who joined this summer as vice-president of marketing for the EMEA region.

Her appointment was first revealed by Marketing (30 June).
