The company has instructed advertising agency Nexus/H to create the brochure in two parts, one for four- to seven-year-olds, the other for 10-year-olds.
The brochure, which features comic strips and a design your own Honda section, will be distributed through UK dealerships. The company is also considering sending it out as part of a direct mailing next year.
The brochure is designed to occupy children while their parents test-drive cars, introducing them to the Honda brand at an early age.
Volkswagen was the first car manufacturer to target children. For the launch of its Touran MPV in July 2003, the marque created branded characters, which featured in marketing promotions.
Vauxhall has followed suit by offering a children's area on its Meriva website.
