Focus on ... The South Bank Show Awards

The awards have run since 1996 and are hosted by Melvyn Bragg.

- They are the only British awards to honour all the arts, recognising film, theatre, pop music, TV drama, literature, comedy, dance, opera, classical music and the visual arts.

- Nominees include the film Bullet Boy, street artist Banksy for visual arts and Dr Who for best TV drama.

- Awards are presented for outstanding achievement and a Breakthrough Award, voted for by readers of The Times. Previous winners include Little Britain and Blur.
