Wonderbra finds shelter

Wonderbra finds shelter



TBWA is launching a new Wonderbra ad starring Eva Herzigova in bra and

knickers. It looks as though she is actually standing under the bus

shelter. She has been photographed at a bus shelter and behind her you

can see a normal street scene.



Carlsberg plugs Best



Carlsberg launched another one-off ad last Sunday starring former Beatle

Pete Best. The ad appeared during the first commercial break in ITV’s

Beatles Anthology and the endline was ‘Probably the Pete Best lager in

the world’. The ad follows another one-off in the middle of the

Coronation Street episode where Bet Lynch left. The endline was

‘Probably the best large hair in the world’.



Radio Times’ Xmas push



The Radio Times is launching a national poster and radio advertising

campaign for its Christmas double issue. The aim of the ads, through

Abbott Mead Vickers/BBDO, is to secure the title’s position as the top

listings magazine for Christmas. Nearly four million copies have been

printed in anticipation of increased demand.



Bacardi strengthens ads



Bacardi Rum is launching a new poster campaign to reinforce the gritty

image shown in the brand’s new cinema and television work. The ads use

messages such as ‘This New Year give up giving up’ and ‘No room at the

inn? Try the off licence’. The new TV and cinema ads show an American

disc jockey who uses the airwaves to run various scams.



Into Africa for JWT



J Walter Thompson is expanding into Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania

and Uganda following its move into South Africa. The agency has also

announced that David Lamb is leaving Abbott Mead Vickers/BBDO, where he

was board account director on Sainsbury’s, to rejoin JWT on the De Beers

business.



First Response ad



Carter Wallace’s First Response Home Pregnancy Test is launching a new

ad campaign in January, through PTK Health Care. The ads use an

editorial style of approach to explain to women how pregnancy kits work.



Drayton forms Alliance



Alliance Midlands has picked up the Drayton Manor Family Theme Park

account and will break its first work in the New Year with local TV,

radio and press ads.



IPA opens Portfolio



The Institute of Practitioners in Advertising has published a guide,

‘Portfolio People’, explaining to agencies the legalities involved in

employing freelance and work experience employees.The guide is available

from the IPA and costs pounds 5.



To the Manor appointed



Mellors Reay & Partners has picked up the Manor Bakeries account for Mr

Kipling. The account left J Walter Thompson after a conflict of

interest.
