Microsoft, the computer software giant, has brought in Peter Shackleton
to be its head of corporate communications, with responsibility for
The job was previously held by Madeleine Crabb, who had masterminded
Microsoft’s Euro ’96 sponsorship campaign, before resigning in May
(Marketing, May 23).
Shackleton was previously manager of customer communications at N&P
before being made redundant when Abbey National bought it (Marketing,
April 25). Previously his career had been in the IT industry, and he was
in charge of customer communications at Unisys.
At Microsoft he will be responsible for all brand activity and broad
reach advertising, sponsorship, events and internal communications.
