Conran serves up a customer loyalty scheme

Terence Conran’s famous restaurant portfolio is to introduce a loyalty card, amid fears that diners may tighten their belts in a recession.

loyalty card, amid fears that diners may tighten their belts in a

recession.



Details have not been released but the card will serve to encourage

diners to use different Conran restaurants, which include Pont de la

Tour, Quaglino’s, and Mezzo. The card may also be used across other

Conran ventures, such as his furniture shops.



The Habitat founder is also planning a national roll-out for the format

of his Zinc Bar and Grill, which opened last year in London. David

Loewi, Conran Restaurants International (CRI) managing director, said

that Zinc’s lower average spend was appropriate to tougher economic

times.



The expansion comes a week after CRI hired Dominic De Vetta as sales and

marketing director.
