Sky Television has unveiled a new logo for its newly-launched Sky Digital Satellite Service. A new look for the Sky corporate brand has also been developed, reflecting the digital era. Sky TV has also appointed Steve Billinger as its first director of interactive programming. Reporting to Elizabeth Murdoch, director of programming, he will develop the interactive strategy for the satellite service.

Sky Television has unveiled a new logo for its newly-launched Sky

Digital Satellite Service. A new look for the Sky corporate brand has

also been developed, reflecting the digital era. Sky TV has also

appointed Steve Billinger as its first director of interactive

programming. Reporting to Elizabeth Murdoch, director of programming, he

The Guardian has drawn up a shortlist for its creative advertising

account, consisting of WCRS, Partners BDDH and BMP DDB.



EMI Records has appointed Richard Grafton as director of commercial

marketing for EMI Records UK. Grafton joined EMI in 1995 as trade

marketing manager.



ITV sales house Laser is to sell the official ITV Formula 1 Web

site.



The site is produced in conjunction with F1 Racing magazine, which is

published by Haymarket Magazines.



Confectionery company Leaf is investing pounds 2m in its children’s

brand Chewitts with a national TV advertising campaign.



Muller is to extend its children’s yoghurt brand Yogz by introducing

Yogz Toddler fromage frais.



The RAC has teamed up with Virgin Holidays to create ten Classic Global

Drives, a range of motoring holidays in the US, Australia and South

Africa.



Equifax and IBM have formed an alliance to develop and market services

to improve the security of sales transactions over the Internet and

other networked environments.



Evolution Brand Development has come up with a six-product male

toiletries range licensed under the Umbro brand name, which launched in

600 Boots stores this week. It will be backed by a pounds 450,000

campaign.



East Midlands Electricity’s TV campaign breaks this week. The campaign

features ’real’ business people offering useful business tips to

consumers.



The ads were created by Maher Bird Associates and include radio and

direct mail.



Sainsbury’s will be producing an extra five medals for the members who

were not originally included in its official England Squad Medal

Collection.



BP Mobil has appointed MBO Solutions to conduct a database-driven

business-to-business direct marketing campaign for its synthetic

lubricant range.



In the last issue of Marketing we incorrectly reported that Radio

Rentals had used Jeremy Clarkson to advertise digital TV. It was, in

fact, Granada and we apologise for any confusion.
