Allied Bakeries is seeing pitches for a direct-marketing project for its

premium white bread, Kingsmill. Three below-the-line agencies and Allied

Bakeries’ retained above-the-line agency, Collett Dickenson Pearce, have

been asked to pitch for the promotion, which will go ahead in the

autumn.



Tongue tied



TV personality Dani Behr is to launch a giant sampling campaign for

Britvic’s Apple Tango brand. The campaign, through HHCL & Partners. will

be based around a giant green tongue, which is ten metres long. Britvic

is also launching a nationwide search for the most seductive voice in

Britain.



Evans the voice



Chris Evans is to perform the voice-over for new ads for Thera-Med, the

liquid two-in-one toothpaste and mouthwash owned by Schwarzkopf Henkel

Cosmetics. The pounds 1m TV ads were designed by Impact FCA.



Japanese partner



Mark Gault, the director of Worldwide Accounts at McCann-Erickson, has

been made managing director of McCann-Erickson Japan. He will become a

partner in the Japanese agency with president and chief operating

officer Koh Sakata.



Lolly samples



Soft drink maker Vimto is starting a sampling campaign for its ice-lolly

brand extension by giving out free samples in London nightclubs. The

move is intended to position the lollies as an alternative to alcohol.



Bean around the world



Voluntary Services Overseas launches a new press campaign this week, to

run exclusively in The Guardian and Observer. The ads are the last work

to come from recently disbanded Bean MC.



Where there’s a will...



Action for Blind People has appointed Chapter One to handle its direct

marketing programme for legacy income after a four-way pitch. The agency

will begin work immediately, targeting known supporters and new sections

of the general public.



Just the ticket



Radio Rentals has launched a national traffic-building promotion, with a

top prize of tickets to the Euro ’96 final. The promotion, through Radio

Rentals’ agency Black Cat, offers free scratchcards to people entering

the stores. Additional prizes include two Olivetti Pentium PCs and two

Sony Dolby Pro-Logic televisions.



JWT Heineken role



J Walter Thompson Europe has appointed Ron Vorsenbosch as new business

director and director-in-charge of Heineken, replacing Matthew Asinari

who is moving to Dentsu Y&R Asia Pacific as chief operating officer.

Vorsenbosch joins from Leo Burnett, where he was European regional

business development director.
