Porsche Cars has appointed top marketer Adrian Hallmark to managing

director, following the departure of Kevin Gaskell to become managing

director of BMW.



Marketing, Campaign and Autocar are jointly sponsoring a conference on

Bob Tyrrell, one of the founders of the Henley Centre in the 1970s, is

Delaney Fletcher Bozell has created a TV campaign for the charity Heart

of Britain, aimed at raising pounds 1.5m for heart and lung disease.



Walkers Snack Foods is to enter the pounds 32m savoury snacks market in

Northern Ireland after securing one of the country’s top distributors,

LMI Foods, from rival Golden Wonder.



Mercury Communications has signed up David Gower for some press and

radio ads following his disclosure on They Think Its All Over that he

uses its service.



Virgin Communications’ chairman Robert Devereux is taking a year’s

sabbatical. Richard Branson will fill his post and will take a more

active role in Virgin Radio.



MasterCard and EuroPay International are to create a new joint

acceptance logo for the MasterCard and Eurocard brands. The move will

merge the two existing logos and is expected to be followed by a pan-

European ad campaign next year.



Cable communications company Bell Cablemedia has poached John Aarons

from International CableTel (UK) and made him the company’s marketing

communications director.



David Longman is to leave his post as director of marketing of McCann-

Erickson at the end of the year after holding the position for 12

months. He was previously head of communications at the Radio

Advertising Bureau.
