French cosmetics company Bourjois has appointed Mediapolis to head
its media account, after deciding to increase its advertising spend by
over pounds 1m to pounds 1.5m.
Mediapolis’s appointment follows a five-way pitch against incumbent
agency The Media Centre, Motive, Media Solutions and The Media Business.
The main media vehicle for the mass-market cosmetics range will be
women’s magazines, with poster ads possible later this year.
Bourjois will also appoint a UK creative agency in the next month after
conducting a secret pitch. Previously, creative was handled by Young &
Rubicam in France.
Bourjois UK general manager, Stirling Murray, said: ’We want to double
the size of the business in the next two to three years.’
