MARKETING MIX: Brand manager of the week

Your greatest work achievement to date? Moving across to new product development where I was responsible for the launch of Prima Milano. This product is significant for Dairy Crest because it is its first venture outside the traditional dairy sector into the chilled convenience market.

Your ’dream’ brand to work on? Viagra. I always feel it is important to

sample your own brands on a regular basis.

What would you be doing if you hadn’t gone into marketing? I’d be

working in the City - the pace of business appeals to me.

The best agency you have worked with? Aylings (media), The RED

Consultancy (PR), Springetts (design).

The worst part of the job? Spending hours in front of a computer when I

could be meeting people.

Most embarrassing mistake? Leaving valuable mock-ups and concept boards

required for a presentation next to my bin the evening before.

Your best work-related trip? Three-week management development training

in Vevey, Switzerland.

The business person you admire most? Philip Knight, who turned Nike into

a superbrand.
