Abbey National has re-centralised its brand marketing operation by placing Sara Weller, director of customer marketing, in an enhanced role overseeing communications for each of the bank’s product divisions. Tetley Bitter has shortlisted Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO, DMB&B, Leo

Burnett and the incumbent Saatchi & Saatchi for its pounds 4m

advertising account, and has signed a 31-week deal to sponsor Channel

5’s new rugby programme, Rugby Express.
