Forte’s longstanding battle against the pounds 3.8bn takeover bid from
Granada Group was effectively over at 2.30pm Tuesday when Granada issued
a statement announcing that 61% of ordinary shareholders have voted to
support the bid. The final level of acceptances had yet to be announced
as Marketing went to press.

February to join Britvic as brand manager for Tango Blackcurrant and
Dick Francis has been appointed as head of Nintendo’s sales, marketing
and distribution arm THE Games. Francis was previously retail director
for parent firm John Menzies. Meanwhile, Menzies has denied speculation
that it is discussing a management buyout of THE.
