It intends to hire a single agency to handle its advertising, direct and legacy marketing, data analytics, fund raising and events business.
The pitch is being handled by the AAR and overseen by Macmillan Cancer Support's deputy director of marketing, Judith Dutton. An appointment is expected to be made in March.
Macmillan Cancer Support changed its name from Macmillan Cancer Relief last year to communicate the range of assistance it offers. It supported the rebrand with a poster campaign at the Flora London Marathon, created by Wolff Olins. Its biggest fundraising event is its annual World's Biggest Coffee Morning, which raised more than £6m last year and was backed by an online campaign by Squeeze Digital. The activity targeted office workers and directed them to a dedicated website.
