Wrigley’s has shortlisted roster shops Young & Rubicam and Bray Leino
plus three other agencies, for the pounds 3m Wrigley’s Spearmint account
resigned by Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO earlier this month.

Direct to handle a press and radio campaign for the test of its Visa
Travel Money card. Launched last week, the card offers travellers a
branded plastic card containing pre-bought funds which can be used at
all Visa ATMs worldwide.

Palmtop computer manufacturer Psion is in takeover talks with Amstrad.
Alan Sugar will not join the Psion board but Amstrad said he would
remain heavily involved. Psion is thought to be particularly interested
in Amstrad’s telecom business and is bringing out a lower-cost palmtop
organiser aimed at the mass market.
British Gas Retail has appointed Liz Henderson as director of business
development. She was previously market development manager at British
Gas Trading. Former marketing head Stan Stocker is the new sales
Computer company Apple is maximising its product placement in this
summer’s blockbuster movie Mission Impossible, with a TV ad campaign
from Abbott Mead Vickers BBDO using footage from the film.
Wella is to launch a pounds 5m ad campaign for its new haircare products
Wella Experience with Liquid Hair on July 1. It will be the company’s
biggest-ever TV spend. The ads were created by BBDO in Germany.
Granada Sky Broadcasting has appointed Zenith as its media buying
Sue Wagstaffe, marketing director at convenience store chain Alldays,
has resigned with no job to go to. Paul Baxter, who was buying director
at the company, has been appointed buying and marketing director.
