Chrysalis promotion



Chrysalis Radio has appointed Alison Page from promotions company HH&S,

as its group national sponsorship manager. She will head up sponsorship

for Chrysalis stations Heart 106.2 in London,100.7 Heart FM in the

Midlands, and Galaxy 101 in Bristol.



Abbey buying



Abbey National General Insurance is reviewing its marketing and has

shortlisted a number of agencies, including TMD Carat and Universal

McCann, to pitch for its media buying business.



Maxim figures



The men’s magazine Maxim has released its ABC for July to December of

last year, which shows a circulation figure of 98,067.



Shopping budget



Britain’s shopping channel QVC turned in results for its fourth quarter,

with revenue increasing 73% over the same period last year to pounds

13.7m. Sales for the year more than doubled to pounds 37.2m, with 2.1

million items shipped.



Golden trio



UK Gold has launched three new mini-channels with their own identities,

programming and promotional strategies. The Comedy Cupboard shows

classic sitcoms, The Vortex is a collection of British sci-fi series and

The Bullet is touted as ‘a lad’s night in’.



Window opportunities



RAB is continuing its Window Campaign in the broadsheets this week,

which will reinforce the growth and effectiveness of commercial radio.

RAB’s strategic planner Clive Reffell, said: ‘Research from previous

bursts shows that the message is getting through to the target

audience.’



TDI’s triple-deckers



Outdoor media company TDI is to launch three national bus campaigns

worth pounds 700,000 with USA Tourism, Prudential and Disney’s film Toy

Story. The rear ends of over 5100 buses will be covered in vinyl

posters.
