Insurance company Eagle Star is to recruit a director of marketing
communications as part of a drive to raise its brand profile. The
appointee will be responsible for advertising and brand development and
will report to marketing director Steve Wigzell.

Birds Eye award
Birds Eye Wall’s and its consultancy Springpoint won the Marketing
Design Awards category for most effective use of research in design, but
not the best use of design in food packaging, as inadvertently stated in
last week’s issue. The latter category was won by Whitworths and its
consultancy Pearlfisher, while Birds Eye was highly commended.
