Victoria Real, the interactive agency, has appointed Ranjit Singh,

former vice-president of business development at the Body Shop, as

director of business development. He will be responsible for helping to

develop the company’s push into Digital TV and other emerging platforms.

Wickedcolours, the cosmetics brand, is launching a new online

teenage-focused cosmetics and accessories club on its site. The club

will offer member discounts on a range of cosmetics and will compete

with the likes of Wowgo, in which Unilever has a minority holding. The

web site can be found at www.wickedcolors.com.





Cornhill Direct has signed a deal to sell a range of insurance products

on Open, the interactive TV service jointly owned by BT, Sky, Matsushita

and HSBC. Initial products will cover life, home and pet insurance. The

service launches in April and will be available to Open’s 2.6 million

digital subscribers.





Agfa UK has appointed Precedent to redesign its web site after a six-way

pitch, with an undisclosed budget.





Europ@web, the internet investment arm of Group Arnault, has taken a

minority stake in French online wine specialist WineandCo. The

investment amounts to FFr100m(pounds 9.37m), which will enable the

company to expand out of its core markets in France, Italy and Britain,

where it competes with the likes of Chateau Online. The site can be

24/7 Europe, the online adserver company and sales house, has developed

what it claims is the world’s first Wireless Application Protocol (WAP)

ad server enabling it to send ads to any WAP-enabled device. The company

is currently testing the technology on a variety of sites in the

Netherlands, Finland and Denmark with further trials due to roll out in

France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Norway later this year. The web

Lex Service, which owns the RAC, has paid pounds 5m for an undisclosed

minority investment in Autohit.com. This will enable Autohit to launch

its motoring portal across other platforms, such as interactive and

mobile devices. Lex also has an option to increase its investment over
