The Boots Company has appointed Janis Churton as head of marketing for its new health club brand, Boots Body 360, after unveiling a pounds 10m investment in fitness and beauty centres last week.

10m investment in fitness and beauty centres last week.



The venture is part of Boots’ long-term plan to expand its brand beyond

its high street retail outlets.



Churton, previously Boots’ healthcare PR head, reports to business

development director David Roberts, who is heading the project.



The first two Body 360 centres will open in Northwich, Cheshire, and an

as-yet unspecified London location next year. The centres will feature

swimming pools and gyms and will offer a range of weight management and

smoking ’lifestyle’ treatments.



The openings will be supported by local media and direct mail

campaigns.



Boots is developing a range of products under the Body 360 brand for use

at the centre, but said it was too early to speculate whether it would

roll the range out to its stores.



Boots created Body 360’s corporate logo in-house. Design agencies Fern

Green and Era will work on the clubs’ interiors.
