The Opus Trust has joined forces with Consignia to form a new
company Optecon, which will enable greater personalisation of bills and
credit card statements.

According to Opus Trust chief executive Peter De Haan, Optecon software
can segment data to select a personalised message which will appear on
the white space of a statement. "Until now firms have not maximised the
use of transactional mail," he added.
De Haan claimed that he could bring Consignia's Electronic Services
business, which prints bills and statements, into profit.
