Yoplait Dairy Crest has appointed online web branding agency 64k to develop a new web site and online strategy for the children’s dessert brand, Frubes. Targeted at children aged five to nine, the site is expected to go live in September, and will feature educational content, plus games and downloads.

Wedgwood, the ceramics brand, has launched a new e-commerce site as it

bids to appeal to potential customers in the UK, US and Japan. The site

features details of the company’s product portfolio and a searchable

online shopping section. Other features include details of the company’s

visitor centre and a heritage section on the history of the famous firm.

Web design was handled by the new media division of creative consultancy

Tayburn. The site can be found at www.wedgwood.com.





Ctrlp.com, the online print service firm, has appointed web marketing

specialist Panlogic to handle its online advertising. The initial brief

covers optimising search engine listings and developing affiliate

marketing and advertising schemes. The web address is

www.cntrlp.com.





Nameplanet.com, the personal e-mail address provider,says it has signed

up 500,000 people to its service since launching six months ago.

Consumers can use the service to select e-mail addresses such as

firstname@lastname.com. The site currently receives around half a

million page views per day, according to figures from the company. It

can be found at www.nameplanet.com.





Sportal,the dedicated sports portal, has signed up CMGI-owned

advertising company Engage to use its AdBureau ad-serving software

across Sportal’s range of sites. The deal covers the company’s local

language versions in France, Germany, Spain and Italy. The UK web

address is www.sportal.co.uk.





Jewish.co.uk, the Jewish community portal, has launched a new WAP

version of its site featuring a daily news service, start times and

dates for the Jewish Sabbath, plus synagogue listings and contact

information. Accessible via a WAP-compatible mobile, the new service is

at www.jewish.co.uk/wap.





E-Ventures, the joint venture between Softbank and News Corporation’s

e-partners, has named Sandi Thomas as its new chief executive. Thomas

joins the company from mypotential.com, where she was chief operating

officer. Prior to that, she spent two years as chief operating officer

of US-based MSBET, a subsidiary of Microsoft and BET (Black

Entertainment Television).





You’re Always Connected (YAC), the unified messaging company which

enables consumers to leave e-mail, fax and phone messages via a single

number, has appointed Keith Marsden as managing director. Marsden joins

from TDK Systems, the mobile communications division of TDK, where he

was managing director. The web address for YAC is www.yac.com.





Bertelsmann Online (BOL) has signed a reciprocal promotional deal with

online box office firstcalltickets.com, which will enable BOL customers

to book concert and festival tickets via its site. Visitors to the

Firstcall site will likewise be offered CDs and books from BOL. Web

addresses are www.bol.com and www.firstcalltickets.com.
