The Oglivy Group has acquired Dialogue Marketing Partnership, with a

view to a merger with WPP’s promotions company, Promotional Campaigns.

Dialogue’s clients include Burger King, Dulux and Gillette, while

Promotional Campaigns’ include IBM, American Express and Hoover.

Beales, the publicly listed department store chain, is looking for a

marketing director to oversee expansion from its current nine stores.

The Bournemouth-based retailer sees its core market as ABC1 customers

over 35.

BT Cellnet, One 2 One, Orange and Vodafone are teaming up through the

Mobile Data Association to promote the advantages of text messaging and

highlight its use across networks, regardless of the operator. A

regional poster, bus, consumer and trade press campaign by Goode

International will break in July and will be backed by a dedicated web

Direct Wines, the online wine site, has hired CompuServe brand marketing

manager Grainne Newborough to the new position of e-commerce manager.

Newborough has previously worked on direct marketing accounts for

Coca-Cola Schweppes, Kraft Jacobs Suchard and Marks & Spencer.

Highland Spring natural mineral water is continuing its ’100% Highland

Spring’ campaign with the brand’s first cinema execution. The work, by

McCann-Erickson Scotland, targets independent females. The ad will be

supported by six- and 48-sheet posters throughout the summer.

Persol Eyewear is launching a press and poster campaign, featuring the

actors and actresses who have worn its sunglasses on screen. The ads, by

Gregory Wood Hall Advertising, feature a list including Tom Cruise in

Cocktail, Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2, Rene Zellweger in Jerry

Maguire and Jude Law in The Talented Mr Ripley.

Ford of Europe has re-appointed Prism to its UEFA Champions League

sponsorship management team. The contract, which includes pan-European

promotions and event management, will run for a further three years.

Prism has held the account for six years.

Nouvelle Quilted, the toilet tissue brand, has relaunched in a Softest

Ever format with royal blue packaging by Coleman design consultancy.

Trial packs will be available during July, while a money-back guarantee

will run until the end of the year.

EasyJet has appointed an external PR firm for the first time in its

history. Financial PR firm Grandfield will provide strategic advice

prior to the low-cost airline’s planned flotation later this year.

Van den Bergh Foods has launched its largest sampling campaign for

Olivio spread. The campaign, which will take place in 150 supermarkets

over 25 weeks, aims to attract an extra 150,000 customers by


Smirnoff, the UDV-owned vodka brand, is aiming to establish a presence

at summer festivals with a branded area called Orbit Tour. The

800-capacity structure will feature high-profile DJs and appear at

events including Glastonbury and Creamfields.

Switchdigital, a London commercial radio multiplex owner, has appointed

Audrey Nash as marketing executive. Nash previously worked in the BBC

digital radio department. Switchdigital’s raft of stations is due to

start transmission on 26 June.
