E-Ventures, the internet investor owned by News Corp and Japan’s
Softbank, has appointed its first head of marketing.
Katie Walker, 37, joins as chief marketing officer from News Corp in the
US, where she was vice-president, development. Her brief is to build and
launch strong internet businesses in the UK under the E-Ventures
E-Ventures’ first two launches are eloan, an online mortgage company,
and buy.com, an internet retailer, which exist in the US and are to
launch in the UK shortly.
Walker is also responsible for helping the different ventures recruit
their own management teams, including top-flight marketers.
She has been seeing presentations from creative and media agencies that
will help launch the different internet brands, and is close to making a

She reports to E-Ventures chief executive, Diana Noble.
