Securicor has revealed that its new e-commerce safe shopping service, headed by former Safeway marketing chief Stephen Taylor, will be called SafeDoor.
SafeDoor, which is being backed by a pounds 7m investment from Securicor, will let consumers register financial and personal details with Securicor and shop with participating online retailers without submitting credit card details.
The name of the service was devised by brand consultancy Dragon. 'SafeDoor encapsulates all that this proposition represents: a safe, secure and private way for people to enter and explore the online retail world,' said Taylor.
SafeDoor will also offer a parcel delivery option via Securicor Omega Express, letting Securicor cash in on the e-fulfilment market.
Taylor added that marketing plans, a marketing chief and participating e-tailers would be announced shortly.
Taylor joined Securicor eSolutions as chief executive last month after he quit as managing director of First Call Interactive (Marketing, November 9).
