AXA Sun Life nets Prudential head as top marketer

AXA Sun Life, the fourth largest life insurer in the UK, has appointed Frank Wilson to the new role of marketing director.

AXA Sun Life, the fourth largest life insurer in the UK, has appointed Frank Wilson to the new role of marketing director.

Wilson left the Prudential, where he was retail marketing director, in September following the merger of the company's retail and group pensions divisions (Marketing, September 7).

The move saw Sean Tompkins, former head of marketing for group pensions, become head of marketing for the new group, Prudential Financial Services.

Before joining the Pru, Wilson was director of savings and direct investments at Lloyds TSB.

At AXA he will work alongside Rob Lee, former strategic marketing director for AXA Sun Life, who becomes strategic change director.

Wilson will extend the Sun Life brand via channels such as independent financial advisers, direct selling and direct marketing. He will look after the firm's marketing and will manage a team of over 100.

AXA Sun Life was formed in 1997 from the merger of Sun Life Group and AXA Equity & Law.
