Lloyds TSB hires brand communications director from Yell

LONDON - Lloyds TSB has named Yell marketing director Catherine Kehoe as its new brand communications director.

It is a return to the financial sector for Kehoe, who joined Yell in 2005. She spent five years as head of brand communications for Royal and Sun alliance, before moving into telecoms with BT. She worked there for six years, latterly as head of strategy and marketing for the BT business division, before being poached by Yell to the new role of marketing director and reporting to Ann Francke, chief UK marketing director.

Kehoe was appointed by Nigel Gilbert, who joined Lloyds TSB as group marketing director last year from Lowe Asia Pacific. She replaces Andrew Gillespie, who left to become marketing director of property firm CB Richard Ellis in June.

Gilbert has been building a team of senior marketing advisers, and Kehoe's appointment completes the team. He said that it was Kehoe had a ‘powerful commercial instinct'.

In July, he recruited Sally Hancock from sports sponsorship consultancy RedMandarin as the bank's first head of sponsorship, to leverage its £80m sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
