Information services company Experian is the first organisation to complete uploading electoral roll data from all 463 UK local authorities. The Electoral Roll is used for address verification for direct mail campaigns. It is also used to assist lenders to make accurate lending decisions, prevent fraud and to help authenticate the identity of consumers shopping on the Internet.
The size of the Electoral Register has increased to 45.99m individuals. Experian attributes the rise to the second year of the Electoral Administration Act being in force and efforts by local councils to improve registration.
