Infogrames takes on Attik for £5m pan-Euro ad task.

Infogrames, the video games publisher, has handed its pan-European

sports and racing business to Attik after a straight pitch against Euro

RSCG Wnek Gosper.



The appointment comes after Infogrames dropped BMP DDB from the £5m account just two months after hiring the agency, citing its lack of

product design and packaging expertise (Marketing, December 6).



Attik's first task is to work on the advertising for the launch of a

carting game codenamed 'project KX'. The company is planning to release

a further seven sports and racing titles in the first half of next

year.



"We received two very good and different presentations. If we wanted a

pure advertising agency we would have gone for Euro RSCG, but Attik also

did a fantastic job in terms of package design and creativity, which is

key to us," said Frank Heissat, European marketing director at

Infogrames.



Mercier Gray holds the pan-European account for the company's action and

adventure games division, which publishes games such as Civilization and

Survivor.
