Canon has appointed former Thomas Cook marketer Lindsey Allardyce
as its marketing chief ahead of a major repositioning campaign.
Allardyce, who takes the position of head of corporate communications,
EMEA, reports to chief of business strategy James Leipnik. Her brief
includes brand development, PR, internal communications, strategy and

handles creative for the company, while CIA handles media.
The company is preparing for a major marketing push with a greater
consumer focus. It has dropped its 'Imaging across networks' slogan for
'You can', which revamps its long-running slogan, 'If anyone can, Canon
Allardyce left Thomas Cook in October last year after ten years, when
she was forced into a head-to-head contest with Kevin Styles, head of
marketing for the group's distribution arm, for the travel group's top
marketing post (see lead story). She was most recently marketing
director of JMC.
