The partnership will cover all forms of competition from BMX to track cycling and road racing, and will aim to accelerate the development of emerging talent.
The campaign will include participation programmes in schools, youth groups and the wider community as part of extensive grass-roots initiatives in the run-up to the London 2012 Olympics. Track cycling is one of the few events where Britain has a real chance of a medal haul at the Beijing Olympics, having dominated the World Championships earlier this year.
The alliance is the latest in a series of Sky initiatives to get more people involved in sport. Sky was recently confirmed as the sponsor of the second London Freewheel, cycling event, in September.
