LONDON - Avon UK has teamed up with the charity Refuge to help tackle domestic violence.

As part of its support, Avon global ambassador, Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon, will host a press conference at the House of Commons on 2 December.

The Four Ways campaign calls on people to speak out against domestic violence.

It encourages people to sign a petition, which asks the government to provide more domestic violence services. According to Avon, one in three local authorities do not provide any domestic violence services.

Celebrities backing the campaign include Lorraine Kelly, Betty Jackson, Fiona Bruce, Helen Mirren, Ruby Wax and Jo Brand.

Consumers can download a poster to display in their local area to raise support. Avon is selling a necklace to help raise money for the charity.

Avon has supported Refuge for the last two years and has raised around £4m for the charity.

Sandra Horley, chief executive of Refuge, said: ‘Every week up to two women are killed by a current or former partner and 10 more commit suicide as their only way to escape abuse.'
