When I started out as an account executive at Saatchi & Saatchi, I was taught the ropes by my account director and mentor, Neela Bettridge. Neela later decided to follow her heart into the charity sector, working for Tusk Force and studying environmental law.
Her move opened my eyes to the professional opportu-nities that exist within charities. People tend to underestimate those working in the voluntary sector, but Neela's drive and dedication inspired me to explore options I would probably never have considered.
Working in the charity sector has helped me to focus on personal fulfilment in my professional life, and has made me realise how important it is to keep learning. I now have a great work-life balance, which I think makes me a better professional.
