Schools idea is new departure for Morrisons

LONDON - Morrisons has broken with the past by setting up its first voucher scheme, designed to encourage schoolchildren to grow their own food.

Schools idea is new departure for Morrisons

Historically Morrisons has espoused an 'everyday low prices' policy and has refused to look at using coupons or loyalty cards. Sir Ken Morrison famously described rival loyalty schemes as "gimmicks".

Until 6 November, shoppers will receive 'Let's Grow' vouchers when they spend £10 or more in-store. Schools can redeem these for seeds and gardening equipment.

Morrisons programme follows Sainsbury's and Tesco's announcements earlier this year that they would be revamping their own 'vouchers for schools' schemes.
