RE: Why is online advertising still failing to engage consumers?

Is there no refuge or respite from commercialism? Only yesterday I peeled open the skin of a banana to find the message 'Al's Autos' emblazoned on the bodywork of said banana. Is having every imaginable space filled with other guys trying to sell us something or other such a good idea - wouldn't we all prefer to go about our lives + bananas without constantly being interrupted by salespeople? Buy fairtrade bananas, by the way.
