RE: Carat set to retain Santander media
Mark. Agree re congrats to Carat. Having been at Carat I know a little about the Santander process and feel it's actually a much more robust and strategic process than they are given credit for. Re your point about banks having their services "auctioned" isn't that exactly what consumers now demand via price comparison websites?

Sadly, given recent corporate history, we've probably all got accustomed to banks making poor, greedy or heartless decisions.

RE: Barclays kicks off £40m global media review
If WPP hold all the banks in some way, I do hope they have credit insurance, send them a bill for £50 everytime they write a letter to the client and charge them heftily for late payment.
RE: Budget 2011 paves way for Sorrell's WPP to return to UK
very true mark. i've had enough of these holding companies and banks holding a gun to our heads. there's hundreds of advantages to being based in the uk that out weigh the taxes. either stay or go, but don't hold us hostage.

RE: WPP investors challenge executive pay
I don't work for WPP but I am always surprised when I hear the shareholders complaining about WPP executive pay. Unlike lots of other large publicly listed organisations, including our wonderful banks, it seems able to constantly make money. We also might not always like the work they produce or the 'perceived' atmosphere inside but you would find it hard to doubt it is one of the best run international networks. If I was an investor I'd be happy at the growth and focus more on how to empower further growth rather than nickle and diming the people who have achieved that return on my money...
